Being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It means that you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections.

The Power Of Transformation

the magician tarot of quotes
Tarot of Quotes
Welcome to the Mabon Blog Hop. If you have just arrived from Jaymi's contribution, thank you for stopping by. You can jump back onto the blog hop train and continue your journey by clicking on the link to Morgan's blog at the end of this post.

The topic for today is an intriguing one: which Tarot cards or spreads signify most truly the power of transformation? What is my personal, ultimate tool of the Tarot that offers me the ability to transform my Self and my circumstances into something new, different and better than how I began?

Let me share with you the simple truth: the Tarot on the whole is a tool of transformation. The moment I picked up the cards all these many years ago and started learning the Tarot, it slowly but surely transformed me from someone full of insecurities, who was just reacting to events, situations or circumstances, to actually taking control, living more mindfully and making things happen.

I don't do readings for myself every day. In fact, I rarely read for myself, but each card in the Tarot teaches me a lesson on a daily basis. Every time I read for others or when I teach the Tarot, it offers me new insight and wisdom.

The Tarot teaches you universal life lessons and patterns. When you decide to learn Tarot, you become the Magician, the initiator of transformation, the archetypal alchemist, who has all the tools and ingredients to create and make Magick happen in your life.

Gradually, you tune into yourself, others and your surroundings. You become more aware. You gain foresight. Understanding. A healthy level of detachment. You learn about the cycles of life, death and rebirth. You learn the art of self-empowerment.

The process of transformation rarely happens overnight. In Tarot, it is symbolised by Death. The ending is its climax, which generates a new beginning; the moment when the caterpillar turns into a butterfly. What the Magician has started is culminating at this point.

It's not straightforward and can be uncomfortable, even emotionally painful at times. You have to learn to let go of your old Self, which isn't always easy.

Once you are mindfully aware of your transformational process, you start to embody Temperance, when you begin to perfect the mix of new lessons learned, behavioural patterns, ideas, beliefs and attitudes.

You start to make things work, create harmony and balance by coming to terms with the changes and getting accustomed to your new situation. You learn about making compromises without losing out.

Your journey continues through darkness and light, setbacks and progress - will you make it to the World and fulfil your true potential?

When you start to engage with the Tarot as a tool for self-development and spiritual growth, you will notice its profound effect on you over time.

If Tarot is your passion and part of your life, how has it changed you over time?

An example of a transformational Tarot spread can be found here.

Tarot 2012 - Are you Ready for the Transformation?

I don't know about you, but over the past few months I've been noticing subtle changes within myself, and I have a strong sense that these changes will lead to profound and transformational growth in the coming year.

For example, I have become more confident about my abilities; I can deal with criticism and ignorance in a more tolerant way; I'm more self-reliant.

I have the urge to share my knowledge, wisdom and spirituality with you and many others, in order to help lots of people to turn their own dreams into reality and fulfil their potential.

I have never EVER written so much like I have done recently on this blog! Whatever is going on inside me, I love it 😄

Perhaps it's all down to that Mayan 2012 prophecy. Last year I wrote a post on my old blog about it and its connection (how I see it) to the Tarot. I re-publish it here with some updates:

The 21st December 2012 is a significant date in the Mayan calendar; on this day the 13th baktun (cycle) is coming to an end after more than 5000 years.

The Mayans were excellent astrologers; their calendar is based on the solar system and the movements of the stars.

We know that there is an astrological reason, why the Mayans determined 21/12/2012 as the last day of the current cycle.

On that particular day, all planets in our solar system will align with the black hole situated at the centre of our galaxy, the milky way.

But don’t worry! It’s unlikely that we all get sucked into it, yet if you are familiar with astrological occurrences and how they can affect our lives on Earth, then you might wonder, what the 21st December 2012 will have in store for us.

The Mayans already knew about this date centuries ago, and so did Medieval alchemists and occult scholars in our Western civilisation. The most prominent one, Nostradamus, has also mentioned this date in his Lost Manuscript together with images of a wheel, sun, moon, and angels, which are all symbols found in the Tarot images.

Now that I’ve mentioned the Middle Ages, I can start to explore the connection between the date 21/12/2012 and the Tarot, which first appeared in Europe in the 15th century.

Does the Tarot tell us anything about what to expect on that special day?

From a numerology point of view, we can assign the following trump cards to this date:

21 – The World
12 – The Hanged Man
20 – Judgement
11 – Justice; you get this number when you add up the numbers of the date.

In addition, you can also include The Fool (no. 0), The Magician (no.1) and the High Priestess (no.2).

All these cards seem to make sense; there's a completion of a cycle (The World), a need for sacrifice (Hanged Man) after evaluation (Judgement) and adjustment (Justice).

Tarot cards 2012: 21 – The World 12 – The Hanged Man 20 – Judgement 11 – Justice; you get this number when you add up the numbers of the date

Perhaps this is a sign to get back to basics and make a new start (The Fool).

The High Priestess and the Magician (trump 1 and 2) suggest opposites to be integrated into a new World order (no. 21 the World = combining trump 1 + 2 numerically).

Personally I don’t believe in doom and gloom predictions.

Instead, I feel that major changes are coming our way on a more personal level, which could sometimes be uncomfortable but eventually will lead to a more sustainable development and evolution of humankind and our planet.

Number 12 features twice in the date - the Hanged Man - which could emphasise the necessity to make a sacrifice, or indeed the ability to progress will be put on hold for a while.

It is unlikely that anything noticeable is likely to happen globally on 21/12/2012; it’s more likely to be a phase of change that has already started and is said to reach its climax some time in 2013.

But wait a minute! Apparently, some destructive solar storms will hit our planet in 2013 according to NASA. Check out the article in the Daily Telegraph, but let's not panic at this stage 😂

In the meantime, feel free to comment and share your thoughts on this topic. Are you feeling a kind of shift or transformation in your life?

Daath - Discovering your Divine Light

©  Chanel Bayless

Following The World in the Major Arcana, Daath is one of the two additional trumps in the King's Journey Tarot

After the Fool's accomplishment of self-realization, Daath makes perfect sense; now that the Fool has established himself in the world, he looks up to the universe and turns his attention to spiritual ascension and enlightenment.

A new era has begun; the Fool no longer feels the need to jump off the cliff into a new adventure, he now wants to build on the experiences he has gained so far.

It's no longer about physical needs, a home, money, career, relationships, dealing with the ups and downs in life; instead of fulfilling his ego's needs, the Fool now focuses on the needs of humanity - giving back to society, volunteering, detaching from material and personal desires, giving purpose to everything he has achieved so far, giving his life meaning, creating harmonious balance between body, mind and spirit.

The Fool moves from being selfish to being selfless and self-giving; he is looking at the bigger picture. This way his Divine Light will reveal itself to him.

Daath (Hebrew "knowledge")  is the unification of the 10 sephirot of the Tree of Life in perfected state of infinite sharing. Perhaps we can view Daath in the King's Journey Tarot as a harmonious unification of all trumps in the Major Arcana.

There is no need to delve deeper into the Kabbalah and the Tree of Life, in order to understand the meaning of Daath in a reading; as I understand this card, the main keywords are as follows:

Turning knowledge into wisdom, practicing detachment from ego and the physical to live for humanity; finding purpose in life; appreciating all experiences you have gained so far and realizing they have made you the person you are today; acceptance of the past, present and your destiny; finding inner peace; giving back to society; philanthropy, holistic living and lifestyle.

Quotes inspired by Daath:

Life has no meaning. Each of us has meaning and we bring it to life. It is a waste to be asking the question when you are the answer.”
― Joseph Campbell

“Nin knew how much humans loved money, riches, and material things—though he never really could understand why. The more technologically advanced the human species got, the more isolated they seemed to become, at the same time. It was alarming, how humans could spend entire lifetimes engaged in all kinds of activities, without getting any closer to knowing who they really were, inside.”
- Jess C. Scott, The Other Side of Life

The greatest create of power you have on earth, whether you are an angel, a spirit, a man or woman or child is to help others.”
- Anne Rice, Servant of the Bone

“Ye know full well that the meaning of life is to find your gift. To find your gift is happiness. Never to find it is misery.”
- Terry Pratchett

“If you want to reach a state of bliss, then go beyond your ego and the internal dialogue. Make a decision to relinquish the need to control, the need to be approved, and the need to judge. Those are the three things the ego is doing all the time. It's very important to be aware of them every time they come up.”
- Deepak Chopra

"The word enlightenment conjures up the idea of some superhuman accomplishment, and the ego likes to keep it that way, but it is simply your natural state of felt oneness with Being."
- Eckhart Tolle

“I-Want-Peace: I is ego, Want is desire; Remove ego and desire and you have peace.”
- Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Where is your place in the world? How do you embrace Daath into your life?

Warmest wishes,

Christiane
